Today's world poses a unique set of challenges to maintaining our mental wellbeing; more than ever when we experience isolation, restriction and loss of community life in lockdown, and with uncertainties in our current times.
In this 4-part series, we combine impactful content on empowering you to know HOW to notice, manage and support your own mental health, plus be guided through creative, hands-on experiences with Artist Educators to back up the learning. We dive into the Window of Tolerance, The Inner Critic, How to Trust Your Gut, and Radical Self-Care in Day to Day Life.
Join MakeShift Co-Founder and Mental Health Educator Caitlin Marshall, who is joined each week by a different Artist Facilitator:
Helena Fox, award-winning writer, author and creative writing teacher
Marcelo Baez, comic illustrator and drawing artist
Angie Cass, collage artist
Mel Young, contemporary jeweller and visual artist
Each workshop is 90 minutes and delivered online to be accessible to participants around Australia.
Participants will receive a course Workbook, plus a set of drawing, writing and collage materials posted out to you.
"Hands down the best course I've done with a focus on mental health. The creative practices meant this was fun, made me feel inspired and playful, but also I learnt so much about how I experience overwhelm and anxiety, what it feels like, and what strategies work for me. Brilliant, this should be running in all high schools"
